ASIAN MOVIES YOU SHOULDN'T MISSED #1

A lot of my visitors are coming from West side and we all know, western and European does better in movies. Hence, I would like to share some of the top asian countries that made it known world wide; if not, in asia.

I will not talk about the plot or details of each movies, but what I've experienced, felt, cried with the scenes.
I am not trying to convince, but i am sure you will enjoy watching these movies even if you're a hard core action movie fan.

#1 My Sassy Girl and Windstruck (KOREAN)

If you haven't watched these two movies, you are already missing half of your movie list before you die. MSG, is a fun, witty and love and hate story. Though, the american franchise of My Sassy Girl didn't make it like the original version, personally because of lack in chemistry of both actors.

Meanwhile, Windstruck is the sequel to My Sassy Girl. Please don't forget to bring your tissue. You will understand and it is quite interesting to know what happened in the past.

Both films are a no idle time to boredom. Please pay attention because you will love it :)

MOVIE REVIEW: GROWN UPS 2

I am a fan of Adam Sandler and since 50 first date i fell inlove with his skill for making people laugh with his simple get tickle moves.

i wasn't sure if i was going to watch Grown Up 1 when i saw his movie Funny People and didn't made me laugh that much. It was a disappointment because i was expecting laughter big time. Unfortunately, nothing special for Funny People other than "Fuck Facebook, yeah MySpace" or something like that.

It is Grown Ups that made me watch Grown Ups 2. It soaked in fucking ugly "forced to laugh" scenes that turned out to be gross and makes me want to hold my puke. Plus, Rob Schneider is not in the movie.

It was not good and not entertaining at all.

RATE? : 1.5 out 5. 1 is lowest.

Queen Seon Dok, the final episode.

My brother influenced me to watch this Korean TV series. When i heard from him that this series is similar to Jumong, i shrugged it off. Basically, i hate bloody battles and see people die. I watched it anyway, and the next thing i know, i was sucking the story big time.

Queen Seon Doek is real in the history of Korea. It was interesting considering she was a Queen and it's been questioned by people who wanted to get the her dethrone by her lover.

I really prefer Queen Seon Doek if you want to know more about the South Korean history.

Anyway, also my favorite part of this TV Series is the final stage. Please turn on the CC for english subtitles.

This action drama series from South Korea is a no lame story. The costumes has a Game of Thrones feel, but this drama came first before GOT.

RATE: 8 Stars

Documentary Film: N O Y

honestly, i am not a movie buff, for no reason at all. or maybe i just don't feel and see the need for me to watch these movies in the big screen and share talk of the town's best screens. But i always make sure, every time i watch a movie, it will be Superb and extra ordinary.

My mom was excited to watch NOY when she saw the teaser of this documentary film starring Coco Martin, who, is the Philippines' Prince of Independent Films. His Independent Films has won awards in FESTIVE de CANNES, the moment she saw trailer in the tv and watch it in showing date. Literally, the film speaks about the life of President Noynoy Aquino during his candidacy.

We were to suppose to go shopping that night. As expected, we had to miss the grocery, just shop what my brother's need and move where we were suppose to go --- our Mom's special request,

watch NOY

The film was short, bold, strong, sympathetically real in the life of urban Filipinos, living in cruel world fighting for their survival to live. Something that you may consider to watch if you want to see and feel the other side of Philippines and Politics -- the reality. you better watch this movie. As i watch the scenes, i asked myself, how is Pres. Noynoy Aquino going to make believe for Filipinos that there is hope for their desperate situations? this film is Simply AMAZING. Cinematography is FANTASTIC.

The actors wasn't acting at all, they are making it real. I love the scene where his brother beaten by these 2 guys who were after for drugs. it was surreal, you could find no malice. Coco Martin arrived and saw these 2 guys almost kill his brother... 3 gunshots hit his body.

i am giving 4 STARS for this Documentary Film. I didn't make a full review for this film because it is all over the internet. Click NOY for more information and full detail about the movie.

BREAK MO TO ARTIST: Riz and Ral

i think i'm gonna have to be thankful for keeping my mind awake til dawn. hahaha, i used to let my tv make lullaby at night to make me sleep but this time, it made me wake til the song ends.

i was about to sleep when i bumped with MUSIC UPLATE LIVE last night (FRIDAY, June 4, 2010 episode) an unknown talents opened up for the show. WATCH IT HERE or in HD

fridays is a segment where NEW artist in the making are given the chance to show their talent. in short, i forgot the segment title.

Riz (guitarist) sounded like Norah Jones mixed with Up Darma Down's (band i love) Vocalist, and Ral (vocalist) sounded like Sarah Barailles, in my ears. i love it. They are called, Walkie Talkies.

the next thing i knew? i am now a FAN! :D hahaha. see this videos.

check out their myspace for their original songs and buy it! :D
see Rizz Cabrera and Raleene for more details and bookings? eh? =P

YEAR OF THE ASIANS Ep. 2 [YOUTUBE celebrities]

Who doesn't know youtube anyways? For the past years and since internet has became phenomenal for people who embraced technology, youtube has been said the NEW television of the decade (my add on).  But i don't believe that   "Internet Killed Television",

Some people watch youtube videos for fun, for movies (like me), some follow who shares same interest, some make videos and make fun of themselves or other, some make videos for politics and to be heard, for fashion, for beauty and some are generously giving tutorials and or  just their "video blog - vlog".

to start with, i think ASIANS are invading youtube scene. haha, no, i mean, seriously!?. although westerns are still plugging themselves to make it in the industry and get notice, there is no way asians will be left behind. But let me share a clear thought. Of all people exerting too much effort (annoyingly idiots!) adding people who just wants to have their videos viewed; those people who are least expected to make it are actually making it big.

RECREATIONAL FUN:
Just like Ryan Higa a.k.a. NigaHiga, a Japanese-American comedian living in Hawaii. He became popular because of his spoofs, and make-fun videos like his "How to be" series, topping it to how to be a Ninja that has been re-uploading by his 2 million subscribers.

hmmm. i became a fan because he is Close to QUEST CREW. ahaha :D

i never knew him that much, not until i saw his "the best dance crew" video that made me laugh hard out. because of him, i discovered VICTOR KIM from Quest Crew of America's best dance crew season 3 Champion who was hella DOPE.

------------------------------------------------

DISCOVERY/DANCE:

I never knew and never came across my mind that a 3 year old kid could be as dope like this kid. He is Yi Ming Wang, a 3 or 4 year old Chinese hip-hop dancer, after became popular on youtube and facebook, he then later had guest in Ellen DeGeneres' Show. (click the link to watch the video)

he is sooo adorable, isn't he? ^^

-----------------------------------------------

THE GIFTED SINGER:
Of course, Charice a Filipino from Laguna appeared in Star King (Korea) surprised Koreans with her talent. She sang with Super Junior's Kyu-hyun, and danced with Super Junior showcasing her talent. After singing in Ellen and Oprah with a promise, made it big in the music industry. She is the first Asian to break into the Top 10 of the Billboard album chart with her latest single Pyramid featuring Iyaz.

--------------------------------

THE MAKE-UP GURU:
in case you don't know Michelle Phan, i am glad to inform you that she is a Vietnamese-American make up artist based in America. She's been giving nice tutorials since 2007 and its growing. her tutorials are perfect for brunette or fair skinned asians giving the dramatic but chic (pronounce: shic`) fresh look. She is also the spokesperson of Lancome.

WEBSITE: Michelle Phan

DANCE GURU:

another guy that is been topping up the youtube dance scene is Marvelous Moon, in collaboration with Philipp Chbeeb a.k.a. Pacman in some of his videos along with Hokuto Konishi. this guy is everywhere! his talent is superb, his workshops are all over the world and this man is incredible. Moon is a chinese based in America.

these are few of thousands of ASIANS in Youtube, a lot of aspiring artist that are making their name via social sharing sites and thru views, shares around the globe. Some of them are in already there.  hmmm what did i missed here? i better have a part 2 since my list is TOO SHORT for me. haha =P
better leave a comment if you know some and i'll include them in my list.

Empty Suitcase Project

I am a big fan of youtube. you get to watch real people doing crazy stuff that don't even think what people will comment to. To name a few, Ryan Higa, who wouldn't have known him anyway?, and the famous CHARLIE Bit ME that has been re-mixed, edited and reenact. Of course there still a lot of good videos out there.

Couple of months ago, while i was browsing to some of my favorite people, i found this "EMPTY SUITCASE PROJECT". I honestly thought that it was the continuation of Blair Witch Project or related to the movie. I was dumbfounded when i had a big mistake. It is a charity project of JEREMY MANONGDO, a Filipino talented singer living in America, gathering school materials in his suitcase for the unfortunate children from poor/least developed countries in Africa. Actually a lot of Filipino and Americans, talented young famous people are promoting this project. To name some, Jeremy's girlfriend Claire Etter (click the names to watch the videos) who is a German, made a video helping for a cause.Gabe Bondoc, a Filipino singer based in America is too helping Jeremy, promoting this project in his mini concert/s. There are a lot of young influential people living in America doing this opportunity to save children, to save less fortunate people in Tanzania. We too can make a difference.

I felt proud when i watched the 4 part videos. Being a Filipino is such an honor. Filipinos known nowadays all over the world. The talent, the advocacies, the love for country, the democracy, the People itself, and now trying to make a difference all over the world.

i really wanted to help. nowhere to be found by his suitcase because i live oceans apart from his country and he's been traveling across the country of Europe and America. I hope, by spreading his advocacy, there is a big contribution i already made. A lot of Filipino celebrities are doing charity but traveling through his passion (singing), carrying him with empty suitcase and share advocacy is a hero.

America's best QUEST CREW

i love dancing since i was like 8 years old.  unfortunately, i didn't indulge myself to passion because i am not that good enough. ok, i'm chubby and when you dance your body goes bounce. and for a girl to bounce when dance is not so much cute to look up. haha. . so for that, i just stayed out of the picture and watch other people dance gracefully. plus, chubby people gave the impression it doesn't please the eye to see them move in the dance floor.

L-R: Victor Kim, Brian Hirano, Dominic Sandoval, Ryan Conferido, Steve Terada, Ryan Feng, Hok Konishi

while i was browsing in youtube, i saw this FEATURED VIDEO entitled, "BEST  DANCE CREW".

and..caught myself Laughing out loud but at the same time. i don't know Ryan Higa and didn't know about the America's best Dance Crew then.

So this video honestly blew my eyes to see a GOOD LOOKING ASIAN guy break dance well.

the moment i saw him, i got hooked up. i found myself on a haunt. upon my research, i found out that this handsome guy is on a group called QUEST CREW. a group of ASIAN DANCERS. yes, ASIAN people mixed with different ethnicity. and to my surprised, majority of them are FILIPINOS. they are the SEASON 3 AMERICA's BEST DANCE CREW CHAMPIONS. just like the JABBAWOKEEZ, which happens to be mixed also with Filipino Decents won ABDC Season 1. Mom literally seeing me watch their videos and asks me what is wrong with you!? because i've been screaming and laughing my ass out whenever i watch QUEST CREW Videos. one of my favorites are STEVE TERADA and VICTOR KIM (Korean). you'll simply fallen in love with their personalities if you will watch some of their videos. No, not their performances but their fun-fun and booboos. Dominic aka D-TRIX Sandoval  (68% filipino) and RYAN CONFERIDO (also my favorite), ARIS PARACUELLES are full blooded Filipinos.

I am fond of horror and suspense thriller movies. I remember i had to roll down the  curtains in our living room while the Pioneer component sets in Dolby sound to watch movies. Theres no DVDs that time yet. I used to rent Laser Disc in video stores. Laser Disc are rare, a little pricey and hard to find the latest movies in that format, and what is always comes in handy was the Compact disc.

Watching horror films grew in me and in our generation. Documented scary movies was then the scariest. It seems real to us, never mind the story because we didn't followed the it well. When we watched the blair witch project back in 1999, me and my friends couldn't sleep at all for almost 1 week. I even stayed in my mom's room to feel safe. hahaha.

Another movie that scared my ass quite is the Paranormal Activity.

This film has two sides of ending but what was shown in cinemas is the Spielberg's remake ending. it brought so goosebumps to me. Even though i am mature already, it made hard for me dozing off to sleep for about 3 days because i kept thinking what happened to guy.

If you haven't seen this two documentary scary movies yet, you are already missing 1/4 of your cinematographic life. Not to mention buying DVDs or way better, Blu-rays. These are also your investment of keeping and sorting some of the best films in hollywood.

Upside down - 6cycle mind / 2 minds

I've been spending some time
Thinking il be alright
Don't know if I can really make it tonight

lie awake in the dark
Calm down, then I'll start
Thinking about you
It's almost breaking my heart

I don't know where I went wrong
Or what's going on
Baby, I feel like our love lost tonight
Should I stay, should I go
Well I really don't know
Lately I've been missing you so

Baby you don't understand
Our love lies lost but
You're still holding my hand
Oh, and then you walk away
Just tonight, i want you to stay

You're turning me on
You turn me around
You turn my whole world upside down
You're turning me on
You turn me around
You turn my whole world upside down

Everytime I hurt you, well it's hurting me too
Don't know if I could really stay here tonight
tired of thinking of you, and everything that you do
Tell me, what am I supposed to do
Well I just wanted to say that I need you today
Tell me, it's all gonna work out all right
i Don't know where I should start, but with all of my heart
Baby let me be your lover tonight

Baby you don't understand
Our love lies lost but
You're still holding my hand
Oh, and then you walk away
Just tonight, i want you to stay

You're turning me on
You turn me around
You turn my whole world upside down
You're turning me on
You turn me around
You turn my whole world upside down

oh..You know...you turn me upside down...
You know...you turn me upside down...

You're turning me on
You turn me around
You turn my whole world upside down
You're turning me on
You turn me around
You turn my whole world upside down

A. OPENING CREDITS - Upside down by 6cycle mind
So Sweet. kakatapos lang namin mag usap ni philipp because its already sunrise, and even though patulog palang kami ang ganda ng last song syndrome effect. hahaha. wala lang, para kasi kaming aso at pusa. laging may "woof and meow" sa relationship, nakakatuwa lang..
B. WAKING UP - Hotel California by Eagles
OMG! parang hindi ata wake up to sakin. nakaka antok lang eh. hahaha. but i like the scalling of the guitar.
C. FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - When I met you by APO Hiking Society
Inay ko po!! Young love, sweet love ba inatupag ko nun? hahaha parang hindi ata.. lolz. Anung konek? waaaa.
D. FALLING IN LOVE - I Feel Good by James Brown
WoW!! "woah! I feel good, i know i would.., so good, so good i got you! wooah! So nice ... sugar and spice" hahaha. ayos to ha, lakas mang asar ng player ko. hahaha.
E. FIRST SONG - You're beautiful by James Blunt
oh yeah!! hahaha. lagi ko nga sinasabi panget ako, tapos eto naman you're beautiful. susmio -_-
F. BREAKING UP - God is good all the time by Don Moen
Amazing~ this is true ^^ i feel blessed kapag nagigising ako sa mga sufferings, sacrifices ko para sa benefit ng ibang tao at times, mostly in one-sided relationships. God is Good.. all the time !! (woooo seryoso na ako neto? heheh)
G. PROM - Freak me by Another level
Woooot~~ natatawa tuloy ako, naalala ko ung prom namin, dami naging cinderella at dami rin naging frog prince. hahahaha! high school life nga naman. read the lyrics, "let me lick you up and up `til you say stop! let me play with your body baby make you real hot, let me do all the things you want me to do.. coz tonight baby i wanna get freaky with you" haha.
H. LIFE - Someday we'll know by Mandy Moore (Walk to remember OST)
Perfect! somebody we will know .... somebody we will understand life. Wala akong masabe! the lyric says it all.
I. MENTAL BREAKDOWN - February by Typecast (Filipino Rock band)
this is a good song. a filipino band who has a powerful lyrics, good choice of melody or rhythm and emo \m/ "the floor is empty where we used to lie i remember every moments im with you the season is changing the summer is here i wish to be with you i want you here here i am expecting for the best and there you are a hundred miles away" medyo malayo sa Mental breakdown, but the band is one of a mental breakdown. hahahah.
J. DRIVING - Power of two by Indigo Girls
Perfect!! i miss him for this. driving around and hugging him in the middle of the road, talking whatever things. .."coz we're okey, we're fine baby im here to stop your"..... being on the road, sometimes makes u wonder a lot of things -- crazy things.
K. FLASHBACK - Hush by LL Cool J feat. Mashonda
awtz, may connection ba? parang wala lang eh. eh bakit ba! un ang natapat eh. lolz. loka loka.
L. GETTING BACK TOGETHER - Runaway by The Corrs

M. WEDDING - Only Hope by Mandy Moore
Tragic.... `wag naman sana ma-ala` A Walk to Remember ang wedding day ko di ba? tsk tsk tsk! but this is what i love in this song ... "I give you my destiny, I'm givin' you all of me, I want your symphony singing in all that I am, At the top of lungs,I'm givin' it back" ang sweet di ba? hehehe. Pwede~~~
N. BIRTH OF A CHILD - Promiscuous Girl by Nelly Furtado
Teaser??? awtz! this is not me! and i can't even imagine myself being promiscuous. Never! hahahaha. "I’m only trying to get inside your brain, To see if you can work me, The way you say. It's OK, it's alright, I got something that you don't like.." Naughty huh... i like it! lolz!
O. FINAL BATTLE - Siren by Tori Amos (Great Expectations' OST)
i like the genre of this music. although it is not perfect for a final battle in general but for a girl who is trying to survive in her own battle could mean a second thought. "NEVER was one for a prissy girl coquette, Call in for an ambulance reach high doesn´t mean SHE´S holy just means She´s got a cellular handy almost Brave almost pregnant.... No teenage flesh know that she'll know she breaks my Siren."
P. DEATH SCENE - Bombtrack by Rage Against the machine (rock metal band)
"...With the thoughts from a militant mind. Hardline, hardline after hardline! Landlords and power whores On my people they took turns Dispute the suits I ignite And then watch 'em burn" this band ROCK!! \m/ (awtz!)
Q. FUNERAL SONG - Scars of a Falling heart by Typecast
Quite far. but for me, it says.. when you lose sight of love, it feels like you`re dying... ay! anu ba ung sinasabi ko? hahaha. eto na nga lang lyrics "broken hopes falling away don't you have something to say? does it make you sleep? emptiness of words that you've said scars in my heart that you left now i'm close to dying everything's failing with thoughts of you now i'm down without knowing what's true with the way you look at someone else everyone's saying just try to be strong"
R. END CREDIT - No ordinary love by Urbandub
another filipino band who invades the Philippine Rock music. parang International band ang dating nila.. grabeh, you should listen to their songs. But for an ending credit?, this Rock! \m/"I gave you all the love I got, I gave you more than I could give, gave you love, I gave you all that I have inside, But you took my love, you took my love..." try nyo download sa mga hindi pa nakakarinig ng songs nila, awayin nyo ko pag hindi nyo na-appreciate ^^ heheh.

TAGGING:
Karmi, Cai, Sheejaey, Kuya Benjo, Ms Jones, Ninong & Ate Melai and sa mga gusto rin magtry ^^ hehehe.

Love is painful and unkind.

i'll always love you....
I often close my eyes
And I can see you smile
You reach out for my hand
And I'm woken from my dream
Although your heart is mine
Its hollow inside
I never had your love

CHORUS
And every night
I lie awake
Thinking maybe you love me
Like I've always loved you
But how can you love me
Like I loved you when
You can't even look me straight in my eyes

VRS 2/3
I've never felt this way
To be so in love
To have someone there
Yet feel so alone
Aren't you supposed to be
The one to wipe my tears
The on to say that you would never leave
The waters calm and still
My reflection is there
I see you holding me
But then you disappear
All that is left of you
Is a memory
On that only, exists in my dreams

CHORUS

VRS 4
I don't know what hurts you
But I can feel it too
And it just hurts so much
To know that I can't do a thing
>And deep down in my heart
Somehow I just know
That no matter what
I'll always love you.

VRS 1
So why am I still here in the rain.

-------------------------------

All of us experience pain and sorrow.
All of us embrace love and happiness.
But what if the person you love is not happy to be with you anymore, only to find out she/he found it with someone else. Are you going to let go? or hold on and pretend you do know?
You keep on fighting for the one you unconditionally love,
and yet, you're fighting for nothing.

What is painful in love is people cannot be honest with themselves.
We always deny what is real and do not accept destiny bestowed us.

What is painful, is how he/she play games on you. He/She doesn't want to let you go because of his/her cruel intentions. Pretends he/she loves you, deny the truth, still lies in front of your face, and yet you can do nothing but cry alone and ask to let you go.
